Two weeks Course on Pain Management: “Introduction to Pain Management”  (offline)

It is a two weeks course on pain management where stress has been given to the basics of pain management. The syllabus has been designed in such a way so that participants are well trained in evaluation & understanding of pain management. It's an introduction to pain management and we expect participants to learn basic ideas to take care of a chronic pain patient.

Eligibility: 

Applicant must be a medical graduate (MBBS/MD) from any recognized university. He must have completed a one-year residency from a recognized Hospital in the following disciplines: Anaesthesiology, Orthopaedics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, and General Medicine. Desirable: Post-graduate degree/diploma in the above disciplines.

The training program is arranged most frequently. The date of commencement, details of course & course fees are announced well in advance.

Details of Course:

Day 1 

Reporting & Registration, Pre-course Evaluation, Introduction (Pain Pathways, Types of pain, Neuropathic pain- pathophysiology, diagnosis & management) and assessment of Pain, Evaluation of Back Pain, Examination of back pain.

Day 2 Fluoroscopy and radiation safety, MANNEQUIN PRACTICE C-arm Guided interventions (Transforaminal, facet, medial branch, Lumber sympathetic), Basics of USG, knobology, tissue characterization, shoulder Ultrasonography and hands-on practice on volunteer  

Day 3 Introduction to sympathetic system, MANNEQUIN PRACTICE under fluoroscopy: Coeliac plexus and hypogastric plexus block, splanchnic nerve block, approach to a case of arthritis, Knee Ultrasonography and hands-on practice

Day 4 USG guided Coeliac plexus block, USG guided stellate & Hypogastric plexus block, Cancer pain, RF, CRYO (theory & demonstration), PRP (theory & demonstration)

Day 5 CRPS, Pharmacotherapy, MANNEQUIN PRACTICE under fluoroscopy: Caudal, SI joint, S1 SNRB. Elbow pain evaluation, Elbow ultrasonography, and hands-on practice.

Day 6  Neck Pain evaluation and related interventions, MANNEQUIN PRACTICE under fluoroscopy: Cervical facet, DRG, Thoracic facet, T2/ T3 sympathetic, stellate RF. Headache classification and evaluation, Diabetic Neuropathy, Fibromyalgia 

Day 7  Sunday 

Day 8 MANNEQUIN PRACTICE of miscellaneous procedures, LIVE CASES DEMONSTRATION.  Wrist pain Evaluation, Wrist ultrasonography, and hands-on practice

Day 9 MANNEQUIN PRACTICE, LIVE CASES DEMONSTRATION,  Trigeminal neuralgia, and cluster headache, MANNEQUIN PRACTICE (Trigeminal, Sphenopalatine)

Day 10 MANNEQUIN DEMONSTRATION under fluoroscopy: Vertebroplasty / Spinal cord stimulator/ ITP. Thoracic spine USG, Ankle USG

Day 11 OPD experience, Psychological evaluation in Pain, Thoracic spine USG, Ankle USG

Day 12 Post course Evaluation, How to start a pain clinic, Lumber spine USG, SI, Caudal, Doubt clearing, Certificate Distribution
